Like a game tied with seconds on the clock, the saga with Bally Sports still isn’t over.
Earlier this week, the Sinclair CEO (owner of Bally Sports) said it has enough streaming rights to launch a direct-to-consumer app in the spring of 2022. These rights include the Detroit Tigers and three other MLB teams.
That’s despite the leaders of the Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association saying otherwise.
Other news in favor of Sinclair and Bally … they just signed a contract renewal with the National Hockey League to stream games of 12 NHL teams … including the Detroit Red Wings.
Fans of the Tigers and Red Wings should feel good about this option. It does mean you’d need to subscribe to Bally Sports, but at least you could stream the games. While no price has been announced, it’s rumored to be about $23/month.
